Too much noise in my system.

I've been looking for years for a replacement to my Solo, but nobody has the intuitive interface and useful features.

how stupid can these people be? Why isn't everyone trying their best to duplicate the Solo interface?

I even got a little 8U rack for mounting my Solo, a compressor and a Furman. They keep making tiny little boxes that don't do anything. Like I need 8 inputs. If I wanted a mixer, I'd buy one.

I want to re-create the Solo, and bring it back... so I can have one that isn't so noisy.

What's funny is that they are all copying the Solo. Before the Solo, all pro audio gear was black, except for Focusrite gear, which has always kicked ass (beyond my ability to pay for it). Have you noticed that the latest new interfaces from M are still blue panels with white knobs? Or that the best interfaces have two headphone jacks? Yeah. Blue is still the hip color, and that's because of Seasound. :) If only we had capitalized on that by, say, selling the product at a price that involved "profit". Oh well! Next time I'll know!

If I was going to buy something right now, it'd probably be one of the Presonus firepod-series devices. If I needed 8x8. But at home, really, it is awfully hard to top the Solo. I still use it. Mine has problems--the monitor mix pan controls are off center and the MIDI stopped working, but even with those problems it's better than anything I could buy for project work.

Anyway, I'm waxing poetic. I just love the darn thing, too bad I don't have an expander. I mean, a real one, not just one that looks nice but doesn't work. :)

The new M Audio stuff looks good, too. I just bought an 1810 for the recording system in 13 Mirrors band's proactice space, and it seems good. (But the control panel is very laggy... so I'm not giving it the official thumbs up yet.) They've kept the good stuff from the solo--just about every M interface has two headphone jacks. :)

Edit: I got hte latest drivers from the web and the interface is working properly now. Sounds good.

Any opinion on E-MU 0404 USB? Besides the flimsy plastic look, the specs seem best in class to me. ...and for under $200.

Funny, I get the idea this is a spam account with a link to a drug web site in its signature. Time to break out the ban hammer.
